To enter the game, you need the client version 1.12.1 (no 1.12.0, no 1.12.2 !). The list of supported locales-translations can be found on the main page. The client can be downloaded from the Internet using search sites.
- download the client, unzip it.
- open the file "realmlist.wtf" (using a text editor, "notepad" etc.)
- write in it "set realmlist _____________". Save.
- launch the client via the WoW.exe file.
Is it possible to play via client 1.14? Yes.
For this, Hermesproxy and Arctium Launcher are used.
You need client version 1.14.0, 1.14.1, 1.14.2.
Hermesproxy use the latest versions (3.10 and later)!
Brief instructions:
- download the WOW 1.14.x client, unzip it. Download hermesproxy and arctium launcher.
- open the file World of Warcraft\_classic_era_\WTF\Config.wtf (using a text editor, "notepad" etc.)
- In the very top line, change the line to "SET portal "127.0.0.1"". You can also write your locales, 2 and 3 lines (SET textLocale "xxxx", SET audioLocale "xxxx", instead of xxxx - the code of your locale).
- delete the "Cache" folder (World of Warcraft\_classic_era_\)
- unzip hermesproxy. The folder can be copied to any place.
- go to the folder, open "HermesProxy.config" (using a text editor, "notepad" etc.).
- In the file, find a line like "<add key="ClientBuild" value="xxxxx" />". It's at the top. Instead of xxxxx, you need to write the client code: "40618" (1.14.0), "41794" (1.14.1), "42597" (1.14.2)
For example, "<add key="ClientBuild" value="40618" />" for wow 1.14.0.
- find a line like "<add key="ServerBuild" value="auto" />". It needs to be written as "<add key="ServerBuild" value="auto" />" or "<add key="ServerBuild" value="5875" />".
- - find a line like "<add key="ServerAddress" value="xxxxxxxxxx" />", instead of xxxxxxxxxx, you need to write the server address (this is the realmlist). Our server has the address ______________
"<add key="ServerAddress" value="__________" />"
- open the Arctium folder, there should be many files and folders. All these files and folders need to be copied to the World of Warcraft folder (for verification, the folder "_classic_era_" and the file "Arctium WoW Launcher.exe" should be in the same folder).
- Create a separate shortcut to Arctium WoW Launcher.exe. Open the properties of this shortcut. In the "Target" field, at the very end of the line, add " "--version=ClassicEra"" (space at the beginning!). The line will look something like this:
"D:\games\World of Warcraft\Arctium WoW Launcher.exe" "--version=ClassicEra"
Click apply and ok.
The settings are now complete. To launch the client, first launch HermesProxy.exe (a black console window will open), wait until all the lines are loaded. Only after that, launch the created shortcut on Arctium WoW Launcher.exe. The game will launch itself.
- When the game is running, when you first launch the wow client, open "settings", the "connection" tab, checkbox "optimize connection speed"
There are video instructions on this topic on the Internet, look for them.
Attention! The HermesProxy program works very poorly! The developers do not fix many bugs and errors.
